PassLock is an open-source password manager application designed, developed, tested and operated by Kaka Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us" or "our"), which runs on iOS and macOS operating systems, and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac and other hardware devices. In order to explain how PassLock collects, uses and stores your personal information and what rights you enjoy, we will explain the types of personal information we collect about you and their corresponding purposes, so that you can understand the specific types of personal information we collect for a specific function, the reasons for use and the method of collection.
一、Data we will collect
Since your data is only stored locally on your device or in a private iCloud space, and all data is encrypted with a mix of AES256 and RSA, we are unable to view any user's private database through the CloudKit console. However, you should still be aware of the information that will be collected when using our apps, we do not have our own private servers and some of the data will be stored in our public database in the form of the CloudKit public database.
- When you launch PassLock, we will automatically sign you in automatically with your account as iCloud and use your user ID as your user ID based on Apple's unique identifier in the iCloud console, which is encrypted. You can also turn off network access and use it only offline. Within the app, you can see the database design of the CloudKit console, which is publicly transparent.
- When you sign in with iCloud, you can set up a personal avatar and nickname to be used only for App aesthetics and to differentiate data from multiple Apple IDs (if you have more than one). Since the app supports storing attachments, we provide a way to take photos and read photos from albums, so this will require you to authorize camera and album reading permissions.
- When you use PassLock, in order to protect your normal use of our services, maintain the normal operation of our services, improve and optimize the experience of our services as well as to protect the security of your account, we will collect your device model, operating system, language and region of the device, software version number, access to the network, type and status, network quality data, operation logs, service log information (such as). The log information, such as the number of times you use PassLock, the time you use PassLock, and other information, is the basic information that must be collected in order to provide the service.
- The application integrates with FirebaseAnalytics as described below:
- SDK name: FirebaseAnalytics
- Purpose of use: Statistical usage data, application crash, performance monitoring, etc
Type of personal information collected: Device information (IMEI/Mac/android ID/OPENUDID/GUID/SIM card IMSI).
- Firebase's Privacy Policy: Privacy and security in Firebase
二、Data we are determined not to collect
PassLock as a password manager app for individuals, families or small organizations, we understand the importance of passwords and other private data to users. Therefore, we avoid collecting and storing user's book financial data in many ways.
- Password Defender doesn't build servers to store any user data, we don't even have our own servers, it's a product completely rooted in the Apple ecosystem.
- All data is stored only on the user's local terminal device and in the user's personal iCloud space (when and only when the user opens the iCloud service provided by Apple).
- You may not enable the iCloud service provided by Apple or when iCloud cannot be used normally due to lack of space and other problems, the data will still be stored in the local terminal device, and the data stored in the local terminal device will not be recovered and cannot be restored if it is lost (uninstalled or manually emptied). We will not be responsible for your uninstalling the app or manually emptying the local data, because this is an irreversible behavior. That's why the App recommends you to use iCloud synchronization, even though it will occupy your iCloud space, it is the safest practice. You also don't have to worry about your data being compromised, as distributed storage and AES256 encryption provide you with strong privacy protection.
